About: As part of a multidisciplinary team, I contributed to Cat-thulhu, a single player game created in Unreal Engine 5 where you play as a cat fishing to feed their village. My main responsibilities were in level design and UI functionality, with additional support in game design.

Core Gameplay Loop Design, centred around underwater exploration, fish collection, and returning resources to the boat to support village progression.

Level and Space Design, creating underwater areas that balance exploration, visibility, and navigation while guiding players toward objectives.

Risk–Reward Gameplay Structure, encouraging players to venture further for greater rewards while managing oxygen, positioning, and escape routes.

Dynamic Threat Avoidance, incorporating the sea monster Cat-thulu as an intermittent hazard to create tension and disrupt player routines.

Player Flow and Readability, ensuring objectives, hazards, and traversal routes remain clear despite the challenges of underwater movement.

Collaboration in Unreal Engine 5, working closely with programmers and artists to integrate mechanics, level layouts, and visual feedback.
